Rick Gehman: Cibos started out of something that really bothered me on Twitter, being a sports fan. SportTechie: What is the Cibos app and how did you come up with the idea for it? The Founder of the Cibos App, Rick Gehman, discussed his reason for making the app and what sets it apart from other sports apps: When a tweet is sent out about a certain game, users can see exactly where the game stood at the time of the tweet with the Cibos ‘GameStamp.’ The Cibos app includes box scores and in-game updates accompanying every tweet about whatever game a fan is following. No more seeing a tweet from someone who is describing a recent play and having to open up a new app to check the box score and get caught up on the game. One of the problems with following live games on Twitter is that tweets quickly become irrelevant as a game progresses because often times fans do not know exactly when a tweet happened and what play it was originally crafted for.Ī new app called Cibos aims to solve these problems and enhance the ability of fans to follow their favorite teams from their Twitter feed. ![]() However, following normal tweets does not offer any regular context or score updates. Twitter has become one of the most popular ways for sports fans to follow the score of a game and stay up to date on all the action.
